Hints
& Tips For Downloading & Playing The Movies
|
|
Here's
a few tips on how to successfully download and play my movie clips.

|
Video
Clips Formats
|
|
All the clips on Feet Fun will be in Mpeg format. To play the Mpeg's you need to have 'Microsoft Media Player' installed - just about everyone has this already as it comes as part of Windows and this is why I am using only this format. |

Using
Microsoft Internet Explorer
|
| There
are two ways to download and play the movies using Internet Explorer - 1. To play the movie in your browser and then save it to your hard drive, use the following method - Click on the movie link you want to see with your left mouse button - you will then be asked for your username and password before the download starts. The reason for this is that Internet Explorer uses a second connection for downloading the movie - you can't get around this, it's just the way Internet Explorer works. After you have typed in your username and password, the movie player will be started and the film will be loaded in there. When the film is fully loaded it is then possible to save it on your hard drive by selecting "Save As.." from the "File" menu in the movie player. 2. To save the movie to your hard drive and play it later, use the following method - Click on the movie link you want to see with your right mouse button. A popup menu opens and you have to select "Save Target As..." from that menu to save the film on your hard drive. When the movie has finished downloading, double click on the file to start it playing. |

Crashing
Internet Connections
|
|
Sometimes
while downloading large files, your internet connection might lock up
or crash. This is nothing to do with my video clips or where my site is
hosted - it is the connection between you and your isp. If it crashes
while a movie is downloaded it is usually necessary to dial in again and
start the whole download from the beginning which is very annoying.
There is software available which can be downloaded from the internet that solves that problem. Two 'download managers' that work with my site are 'Getright' at http://www.getright.com and 'Gozilla' at http://www.gozilla com - both offer free versions downloadable at their sites. With this software it is possible to continue a download when your internet connection has crashed and to cancel a download and continue it later. |
